“He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my way.”
Psalm 40:2

There is no lack of vision in Africa. But there is often a lack of opportunities. And that is where we can come in. We have been blessed with so much that it doesn’t take much to be a blessing. These past few months we’ve been out with teams distributing food, clothing and mattresses to the community, helping out at feeding centres, erecting verandas and painting murals for community pre-schools, praying for children in the hospital (and seeing vast numbers discharged!!) and just spending time with and loving the kids as they do their homework, play football in the street or collect water.

We introduced you to this ministry by stating that we believe that as each child is empowered, communities will be transformed and these communities will transform the nations. I now believe that more than ever. Very soon we also plan to set up a community education centre with the aim of providing the assistance, resources, books & computer skills that these kids don't otherwise have access to.

We also said that we need people to come and make a difference in these communities. But this isn't just about Africa. What I have come to realise is that teams need  to come. Yes, they have a lot to offer - but they also have so so much to learn. People need to come and be challenged, transformed and then go back home to change their own communities. Your eyes will be opened, your heart will be broken and I can guarantee you won't go home the same person. Imagine what a difference it could make if all of the teams that visit go home with the same awareness that the orphans on the mountain have of what is really important in life... If you can't come, why not support family or friends to come and catch a glimpse of true wealth & bring it back for you?
